We offer this book to you as a testimony to God’s faithfulness in all

we are and do. As we gathered to share ideas and create To Every Season, we

agreed that the title and its contents should embody the spirit of Blue

Skies. For, beyond being just a collection of recipes, these pages also

contain heart-stirring glimpses into the lives of both those we serve

and those who serve at Blue Skies. The passage from Ecclesiastes

came to the forefront because it reminds us that in God’s plan all

seasons of life have purpose, even the tough ones.

And, just as recipes are essential to a cookbook, so we find food

vital in all times of life. We use it to help us celebrate the good times

and to comfort us in the bad times. A home-cooked meal delivered

by a friend is a blessing to a family who is facing difficulty. A plate of

brownies is a treat to children who have been sitting at a school desk

all day. A hot soup warms the soul on a cold winter’s day. A delicious

cheesecake is perfect for rejoicing in the arrival of a new baby. An old

family recipe can take us back to the sweet fellowship around a grandmother’s

kitchen table. And, so, we cook!

The Brian Parks Walk and Fun Run on October 1st was a great day full of celebration and fun.  Thanks to the Brian Parks Foundation for allowing us to celebrate Brian’s life, remember his Blue Skies experience, and raise money so that other families can experience what Blue Skies has to offer.
